Regional unit for risk and security management for South East Europe (RURSE)
Bulgaria has started negotiations with the European Union Member States and the European Commission for creation of Regional Unit for integrated Risk and Security Management for South East Europe (RURSE) in Sofia.
On two consistent workshops in March 2010 and March 2011, organized by the Public Administration, scientific-applied and civil sectors, under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Republic of Bulgaria - Mr. Boyko Borissov and supported by the EC, were discussed the possible ways for acceleration of establishing an Operational Capacity under the European Earth Observation Programme - Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES), including strengthening the regional cooperation and coordination in this field (Sofia Conclusion I and Sofia Conclusion ІІ ).
After different expert discussions and consultations at national and European level, on 14-th of September 2011, a process of approval of governmental resolution was started and on the the 16-th of October, the Resolution 826 was adopted by the Bulgarian government.
